About 1309 schools will serve more fish this year after summer demonstrations of fish recipes at school lunch workshops. Demonstrators from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Dept. and the U S Bureau of Fisheries show fish is economical and nutritious and faster to cook, improving menu variety.
The Executive Committee of the Comanche Camp Fire Association met Tuesday night October 1 for a bi monthly session at the Camp Fire House presided by Dr William T Calhoun. Members present included cochairman Mrs Gaston Boykin Mrs J Roberson treasurer Truman Renshaw and Bill Jones maintenance and camping chairmen W M Durham Finance Committee Mrs W M Durham Jr Group Organization chairman Mrs Bill Wilkerson Adult Membership chairman Mrs Calvin Cox Membership at Large chairman and Mrs James Wilkerson Publicity. Absent were Mrs Bill Jones rerearns uses Gener For Training chairman Mrs F F Ross registrar Mrs James Slider secretary and Bill Wilkerson Finance chairman. The group steers about 80 Camp Fire girls in second through fifth grades in five groups with a sixth under formation. The committee reviewed duties emphasized group leaders and toured the Camp Fire House. Next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday night December 10.
Army private Henry J. Floyd son of Mr and Mrs H C Millord of De Leon completed a wheeled vehicle mechanics course at Ft Ord California. He trained to repair internal combustion engines and wheeled side chassis components with basic electrical fundamentals included.
