Cotton Prospects in Comanche County Texas
Comanche County, Texas, historically a cotton region, sees lower county yields this year due to ongoing drought and market shifts. Mebane seed is the main variety, with average lint yields around 150 to 200 pounds per acre, and potential for 60,000+ acres planted. The area supports mills and gins, seed processing, and favorable markets, with room for growth as farmers shift toward scientific cultivation and expansion of cotton acreage next year.
