Obesity Epidemic Debate Highlights Health Crisis
A Wisconsin research group reports 60 million obese Americans over normal weight, calling the trend epidemic and potentially more harmful than undernutrition. The study cites food abundance and urges action from HEW, while other items touch on literacy standards, a deadly French dance hall fire, and drug-linked artery disease findings from Southern California researchers. The column also notes Cassius Clay now Muhammad Ali and shifts in Texas wildlife fatalities, plus political results and family notices.
