Rev Henry M Chambers formerly of Anson has moved with his family to Comanche to assume the pastorate of the First Baptist Church replacing the late Rev Arthur Johnson. He is a Baylor and Southwestern Seminary graduate and served as a WWII chaplain attaining lieutenant colonel rank. The church lists 1100 members with a new educational building completed last year and a parsonage under construction.
Comanche travels to Cisco for a District 10-AA clash with the Loboes in a toss up game. Both teams seek district leadership as Ranger and Stephenville loom. Cisco injuries ease while Comanche eyes a potent attack led by Coulter and Lee.
Santa Fe reports carloadings of 26,607 for the week ending November 8, up from 26,359 the prior year. Cars received from connections reached 14,012 versus 12,947 in 1951, and total cars moved were 40,619 compared with 39,306. The preceding week saw 42,005 cars handled.

John D. Waring Sr 80 longtime Comanche resident and former mayor died in Houston at his son Haynes home at 645 p m Saturday after a yearlong illness and October surgery. Funeral at St Matthews Church Comanche followed by Oakwood Cemetery interment. Survivors include four children six grandchildren and three great grandchildren with numerous out of town mourners attending from Dallas Houston and Pasadena.

West Ward PTA hosts a three day art exhibit in the lunch room from November 18 to 20. First and second grade hosts lead a sequence of events including a Tuesday tea hour, with displays featuring twenty nine works from Texas artists. The show, Circuit Exhibit No 2 of the Texas Fine Arts Association, is organized through Mrs. C. W. Gray and includes prize winning watercolors by John Rosenfield and Lowell D. Collins, plus a John the Baptist print by B. Brunkow.
