Sidney Air Force Base radar station near Comanche reported
The Sidney Air Force Station is under construction on Long Mountain about five miles west of Comanche, with 20 workers on site. Robert Robertson sold 45 acres for the project and a second acre for a right of way, expected to be an all weather caliche roadsite. Officials say it may be a radar or Civil Defense facility, possibly non manned, and a government building of about 1200 square feet will accompany the tower.
