Grand Jury Report Recommends Jail Sanitation and Kitchen Gas
The grand jury notes the jail is well kept but urges upper jail areas be screened to keep birds out and improve sanitation and fire safety. It recommends gas for the kitchen to cut costs and improve cooking during north winds. Repairs to the roof should be completed. It highlights new laws making certain offenses felonies and commends the Finance Committee for orderly records, urging prompt monthly reports. It thanks local officials including Sheriff Gilbreath and District Attorney for assistance, and closes with graduation notices from Hassie Grammar School.
