John Lawrence Neill was honored by his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Lawrence with a lawn party on Friday night May 12. About 300 guests attended at the Harmony community home transformed into a Hawaiian paradise. Music featured Johnnie Robinson with Hawaiian steel guitar. other musicians included Sam Salois Dane Moore Max Pyburn Ray Merworth and Jerry Scott.

Thomas Glenn Cagle 91 longtime Comanche County resident died Sunday May 21 in a Dublin Redest home. Funeral services were held May 22 at Sipe Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Charlie Myrick officiating. Interment followed in Sipe Springs Cemetery. He was a retired farmer with survivors including wife Mary Elizabeth Cox Cagle, daughter Mrs. T A Weaver, four sons and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Sixty six Sidney area residents completed two or more of four three hour Civil Defense sessions led by Ray Pruitt and Henry Spalding. Forty four attendees finished all twelve hours and received certificates, with extra sessions planned to organize community disaster action.
