The Comanche High School girls basketball team posted steady efforts across several district games. Mary Jean Andress led scoring in multiple games as the Maidens downed Stephenville 34-24 and later defeated Cisco 65-40 while Weatherford and others challenged CHS.

Mary Chaffin was named Honor Star Farmer of the Farmers of America at the area 4 convention in ville. The award honors friends of Farmers recognized by the FFA. Chaffin is the only superintendent in the area to receive the honor as teachers praise her leadership. Other honorees included Pete Gooch Abilene Walter J. Supt Chaffin to Attend U of T Work Conference
Virgil Chaffin superintendent of schools will attend a work conference for school leaders at the University of Texas June 14 18. The weeklong event for superintendents focuses on planning and operating the educational program with the TSTA project as a major discussion basis. Adaptations to crowded schools and teacher shortages will be explored.
