Sailor S. L. Hornsby To Return From Mediterranean Cruise
S. L. Hornsby USN husband of Velma Hornsby Democrat Star Route Comanche is due in Norfolk May 24 after a five month Mediterranean cruise aboard USS Spokane. He visited the French Riviera Oran Algeria then Gibraltar on the voyage home. Spokane sailed with the Sixth Task Fleet under Admiral Richard L. Conolly.

New Appliance Room At De Leon Displaying Frigidaire Maytag Goods
The Charles Freemans Grocery in De Leon nears completion of a new appliance room. It will display Frigidaire and Maytag products handled by Mr. Freeman, a sub-dealer for C. L. Huett at the Service Drug Store in Comanche. Six through ten foot Frigidaires and Frigidaire ranges, plus Maytag washes, are on display. Lights are being installed this week and the public is invited to inspect the addition.
