The Comanche Independent School District in Comanche County Texas schedules a bond election for June 4 1921 to issue 110000 dollars of bonds bearing 6 percent interest over 40 years with a sinking fund. Voters will decide to issue the bonds and levy a tax to pay interest and principal for school building construction and site purchases.
In Nashville Tennessee W N Parsons a local grocer hails Thedford’s Black Draught as the best medicine for sour stomach headache liver and indigestion. He says he has used it for years and cannot be without it. He urges others to rely on the original genuine remedy and avoid imitations.
Dr J O Lane left Monday for Dallas to attend the State Medical Association and will then proceed to New Orleans for a postgraduate course. He plans to be away about six weeks. Prickly Ash Bitters advertised as a blood purifier and system regulator by Hamilton Drug Co. and Wm Reese Co. agents at $1.25 per bottle.
Special to the Chief reports a welcome rain in Gum Springs on Sunday with good local health. Grandma Denton of Comanche was buried at the old Baptist cemetery. Carl Sollie and family visited W. E. Kerley and family, and Aunt Mat Kerley stayed with them. Singing drew a large crowd last Sunday. Teddie Randall and daughters Ruby and Thelma of Cotton Grove attended and Randall will teach a singing school late August into early September. Henle and Lorene Kerley visited grandmother BE L Curry of Briar Grove Tuesday to Thursday.
The Comanche County Court appoints Susie E. Powers temporary guardian of Lloyd Powers and Buford Powers, minors, on April 28 1921. The guardianship becomes permanent unless contested at the July 4 1921 term, with notice to all interested parties.
