County Pecan Growers Plan Set for Comanche County
County Agent J A Barton aims to organize a Comanche County Pecan Growers Association after attending a Brazos Valley meeting. He cites last year’s crop of pecans valued at about $100 000 and plans surveys in every school district to map native pecan acreage orchards and grafting progress. He highlights cleaning orchards to boost yields and quality, using N T Haskins case to illustrate profits, and urges July August action to organize and improve nut size and grade. Sargon testimonials from Keller and several Texas towns accompany the piece.
