The Blanket High School Senior Class will present the play From Shoot Gap to Harvard on Saturday evening at eight. Cast includes Emmy Hammett Adie Bell Woods Julia Hammett Olene Ezra Edd Hammett and others. A small admission will go to the Senior Class Fund.
A 1936 event saw Business & Professional Women hosts entertain their bosses with a banquet at the Methodist Church. Ninety plates? Eighty served. Notables included Miss Minnie Cunningham as toastmistress and musicians Evelyn Durham Rebecca Isham Nona Lee Maidee Marshall Louise Rayborn and Selma Jean Clark. Visitors from Missouri Fort Worth Kilgore and Gorman attended.
Brownwood public school system raised minimum salaries by ten dollars per month. Grade teachers go from eighty to ninety dollars, Junior High from one hundred five to one hundred fifteen, and Senior High from one hundred twenty five to one hundred thirty five, as decided by the school board at Monday night meetings.
