Brownwood cattle sale shows steady strong demand
Brownwood cattle auction reports excellent buyer turnout and steady to higher prices on bulls and calves while cows and canners trend down. Totals show 875 head sold for $22,424.68 with average $256.27, commission $3,089.80 and notable prices for stocker and feeder calves, yearlings, and slaughter stock. William Russell McGlothlin 75 of Gustine died April 25 in a Hamilton hospital. Services were April 27 at Comanche Funeral Home with Masonic graveside rites at Energy Cemetery. Survived by three daughters, a son, a sister and brothers, 22 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren.

Lipizzan Stallions to Perform in Texas Coliseums
The Lipizzan Stallions of Austral will perform at Brownwood Coliseum on Wednesday May 2 at 8 p.m. and at Abilene Coliseum Sunday May 6 at 2 p.m. Tickets available at both venues. Col. Ottomar Herrmann, whose ancestors trained Lipizzans for 300 years, co-stars.
