Miss Ross to Represent CRT at State Meet
Miss Marguerite Ross of Comanche will represent teachers from 18 counties at the eleventh annual Texas Classroom Teachers Association convention in San Antonio’s Gunter Hotel March 31 to April 1. She serves on the Constitution Revisions Committee and will join about 1,000 teachers to discuss statewide teaching conditions, ethics enforcement, fair compensation, and personnel policies. Dr Harold Spears, San Francisco Public Schools superintendent and AA of School Administrators president, will address the convention. TCTA, a 42 000 member group with nearly 200 affiliates, backs seven education bills in the current Legislature.

Mitchell Morgan Killed in Mishap Near Big Spring
Mitchell Morgan 47 of Comanche was killed in an auto crash Sunday March 26 about ten miles southwest of Big Spring. Funeral services were March 28 at First Baptist Church with Rev. John Wiles. Interment in Comanche. River-Welch Funeral Home handled arrangements. Survived by his parents, siblings, a daughter in Smyre, and several extended family members. Born May 5, 1919, he was a WW II veteran and employed by Economy Oil Co. in Garden City.
