Mrs J H Lloyd widow of J H Loyd turned 89 with a Sunday March 9 1958 party at 1111 Willis St Brownwood hosted by Mr and Mrs Noel Boyd. Eight children 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren attended with 48 relatives total. The event featured a birthday cake with 89 candles and gifts for the honoree.

Pvt. Richard L. Crim, son of Mr and Mrs W H Crim of Sidney, completed a ten week electric motor and generator repair course at the Engineer School Fort Belvoir Va. He enlisted in August 1957 and trained at Fort Carson Colo. A 1995 Sidney High School graduate, he also attended Howard Payne College.
