W H Thate Dies At 72 In Coleman Hospital
W H Bill Thate 72 of Santa Anna died at 10 30 a m Tuesday March 14 in a Coleman hospital. Services were held Wednesday in Coleman with burial in Burkett Cemetery. A native of Burkett born March 11 1900 he operated the Pigly Wiggly Grocery in Comanche in the 1940s and was active in civic and church work. He married Ona Mae Roberts November 21 1920 in Coleman and retired from grocery work in 196% after 52 years. He was a Methodist and Lions Club member and survived by his wife two sisters Mrs A M Brown of Abilene and Mrs George Harrison of Austin.
