A two day gathering of first district Gulf division officials and 15 Western Union managers in Dublin wrapped up with J F Wilson and J W Warner presiding. Miss Iva Garner spoke on Comanche telegraph needs as plans to speed service and improve cable links were outlined. New traffic plans cut telegram times to 15 minutes between major U S points and 20 minutes to South America, with direct Texas to New York cable connections. A direct U S Italy cable is now arranged, replacing prior routes via Britain. Weekend letter services to Great Britain, Ireland, and South America begin, catering to plain language business and social messages not requiring instant transmission.
