Comanche Prepares for Eighth Annual Amateur Rodeo Night Parade
Comanche gets set for a three night rodeo starting Thursday with 150 cowboys and top stock from Lloyd and Sandy Woodley. Parade opens with 30 floats and hundreds of riders as Jaycees and the Chamber of Commerce sponsor contests and prizes. Grand entry at 8 p.m. each night features bareback bronc, calf roping, wild horse racing, Brahma bull riding, wild cow milking, girls barrel racing, and boys calf riding along with novelty acts.

Plans set for a county wide Crusade for Christ July 8 to 14 in the Comanche football stadium. Services begin each evening at 8:00 p m sponsored by the Comanche Baptist Association and the Baptist Youth Association with Rev B O Baker Jr as evangelist and Dick Baker as singer. The Comanche Jaycees host the Crimemobile on Saturday June 29 from 9 to 5 on the West side of the Square. A 48 foot rolling classroom, the exhibit shows modern police techniques to Texans, traveling 100000 miles yearly by invitation of civic groups. It aims to build respect for peace officers and informs about law enforcement tools. A Texas Law Enforcement Foundation representative assists, and admission is free.
