Twenty Lake Proctor Bass Club members fished an innerclub tournament on Lake Coleman Sunday June 11. P D Pullig Brownwood won with a 4 lb 10 oz 209 fish on a purple worm. Game Warden Bill Works claimed the smallest perch. Attendants listed include Deanna and Ben Stridge Mary and Herb Goodson Kathleen and Charles Marshall Mary Works Virginia Turner and Melody. Funeral services were held for Mrs James Ming 77 of Beaumont in Brownwood after a long illness.
Meridian welcomes the Texas Antique Tractor and Threshing Machine Show on Saturday June 24 starting at 10 30 a m with a downtown antique car parade sponsored by the Waco Antique Car Club A public dinner runs 11 30 to 1 pm The tractor and machinery parade begins at 1 pm at the Nunean Seawright farm one mile east of Meridian on Highway 22 featuring threshing corn shelling steam engines and other old equipment Admission is free Mr and Mrs W K Modrall of Austin visited with Mrs Modralls mother Mrs H A Holladay over the weekend.
