R L Eaton of Blanket a Comanche County farmer and landowner died Monday in a Brownwood hospital after weeks of illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Blanket Baptist Church with burial in Blanket Cemetery. Survivors include two daughters three sons one sister twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Former Blanket Man Will Speak at North Texas Conference
T W Smith formerly of Blanket Texas and a university professor will be principal speaker at the annual Teacher Training Conference at North Texas Teachers College. He will address a morning session June 20 on A Teacher in Washington and an evening session on The Teacher as a Citizen. Born in a log cabin near Blanket he rose to power in Chicago's fifth district and now holds an A M and Ph D. He is author of several books on politics and ethics and splits time between teaching at the University of Chicago and serving as congressman at large from Illinois.

Gustine Druggist I. Sadler Dies After Long Life in Commerce
I. Sadler, a Gustine druggist for over four decades and a Comanche County resident, died June 9 1940 at his home. Born June 27 1869 at Dexter Missouri he married Tennie Allen July 1 1900 and had two children Ruth Alsup and Cecil Sadler. Funeral at First Baptist Church Gustine with Rev. R. M. McGinnis officiating. interment Evergreen Cemetery. He leaves brothers S H Sadler Mt View Oklahoma J M Sadler Tolar and sisters Olive Raoul Gustine and Mrs J C Peterson Fort Worth plus many nephews and nieces. He entered the drug business in Gustine in 1898 and remained active until death. Plum Orchard Near Comanche Showcases Roberson Family Farm
One of Texas's largest plum orchards sits just north of Mount Pleasant Church near Comanche, owned by Willis Roberson. The 100 acre site yields about 4 000 bushels of plums with varieties including Botan Bruce Burbans and America, plus peaches pecans grapevines and berry patch. Two Teachers Elected by Comanche School Board
The Comanche School Board elected two teachers Wednesday night. Mrs. Virginia Beever of Dublin was chosen as Public School Music teacher and Miss Gladys Baker of Harold was named Home Economics teacher. Beever, formerly Virginia Littlepage, holds a degree from Howard Payne College and studied at Hardin-Simmons University.
