Ferguson Loses in Texas Impeachment Case

In Austin Texas June 12 the supreme court ruled impeachment constitutional and within senate jurisdiction. Germany protests to League over Sarre troops presence

Geneva June 11 Germany protests to the League of Nations over French troops in the Sarre valley and French control of coal rights for fifteen years. Sir Eric Drummond opened the council session by presenting the note. Germany says continued French forces could influence the plebiscite determining Sarre’s future. The region remains under League administration awaiting a 15 year plebiscite outcome.

Old Settlers and Soldiers Picnic Plans Announced

The executive committee met Saturday to finalize details for the Old Settlers and Soldiers picnic at Vandyke on Wednesday June 18. Fourth of July Highway Work Celebration Underway in Comanche County

The Rector Cunningham Post American Legion plans a big basket picnic for the Fourth of July with committees to arrange the event. The State Highway Department has begun work on designated highways in Comanche County aided by machinery from adjoining counties. A ten ton tractor and grader are in use to reshoulder gravel roads, with additional equipment arriving from Abilene. Thirty local laborers, eight teams, and drag patrols are active, aiming to restore road conditions within about sixty days despite dry weather.
