An election will be held to select several new Youth Council members for the coming year. Nominations are invited as dues are collected to cover rent and incidentals. Dues are currently twenty five cents per month.
The Lions Club held its annual Farm Ranch meeting at Lake Eanes park with Lion president John Jolink presiding. About 450 Lions ladies and guests enjoyed a 720 pound beef barbecue prepared by J F Hallmark and the Murphree couple. Joe A Clarke of Fort Worth National Bank spoke on agriculture and banking relations. Next meeting is June 22 with Howell Cobb chairing the installation of officers including Herbert Goodson as president and Floyd Prather as first vice president. An Eastland quartet and many club members were noted for their service.
The County Quartet Singing Convention moves from Hasse to Gartmans View and will be held Friday night, per president Less Dillard.
