Regular FDA Checks Pesticide Residues in Food
FDA surveillance shows pesticide residues in food remain below legal tolerances. From 1964 to 1970, DDT-type materials declined while organophosphates rose modestly. A 117-item market basket from six regions checks two-week diets of young adults, confirming the U.S. tolerance and control system is effective.
