Pistol Exhibit Sparks Comanche Centenial Murder Memory
A pistol once owned by John Wesley Hardin, who killed Deputy Sheriff Charley Webb in 1874, is shown at the Comanche County Center Museum during Centennial week. Roy Sherrill of Stephenville delivered the gun, and the piece sparked recollections of Hardin, his trial in Comanche, and the notorious shooting in a saloon on the square.
