Anniversary salute for U S Army Signal Corps at Tobyhanna
A ceremony at the Tobyhanna Signal Depot marked the 96th anniversary of the U S Army Signal Corps. Lt Col Bob H Glover and John E Pionteki used a sabre to cut a large birthday cake as 79 years of combined service by Pionteki and Skelly were noted. Glover praised the corps achievements and the theme Serving the Army and the Nation.

Harmon Knight Taken by Death
Harmon Knight 87 longtime White Point resident died Sunday July 8 at his daughter’s home in Comanche. Funeral services were held July 9 at the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Len Jalton officiating. Burial was in White Point Cemetery. He was born September 29, 1869 in Marietta Georgia and survived by seven children, twenty two grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
