Texas lawmakers set 30 day budget session start date
Gov Smith calls a 30 day special session to craft a two year budget and a 300 million tax bill reporting back July 28. He hints annual sessions unlikely but may relax if a constitutional amendment on August 5 passes, though he doubts approval. He plans pre session tax talks with leaders.
