Typical attendance ranges from 125 to 150. The pool hours are 1 to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 to 6 p.m. Sundays.

The Raiders and Saints won Monday night to advance in the first round, defeating Blanket 10-0 and the Toppers 11-6 respectively. Gustine upset Oak Lawn 11-9 while the Wizards beat Sidney 19-7 on Tuesday, setting up Raiders versus Saints in a second round showdown Saturday July 11 at 7 p.m.

The learn to swim program at Comanche Municipal Pool in Lake Eanes Park expands with 40 new students bringing the total to 251 enrolled on the first day. Director Jack King notes good progress across classes run by high school students and recent graduates. final class set for Friday July 10. Additional names include Loretta Smart and many others with ties to Dallas and local families.
Comanche set to host the 1964 Amateur Rodeo July 16 17 18 with nightly showings at 8pm. More than 200 Central Texas riders expected. Lloyd Woodley returns to direct stock and events including bareback riding bulldogging calf roping steer roping and barrel racing. Admission runs 1 for adults 50 cents for children. parking 5 dollars for three nights or 2 dollars per night. Parade Friday evening features 800 mounted cowboys and cowgirls with decorated floats and prizes. Indian Band leads the parade. pet parade returns with participants and pets. Workers labor to decorate streets and prepare parade route.
The third annual Comanche County Tomato and Flower Show will be held Saturday July 11 in the Comanche Courthouse. Entries due by 8:30 am, judging at 9, displays open 4-H from Comanche De Leon Gustine Newbury Proctor Sidney and Soda Springs.
Mr and Mrs H D Markum become proprietors of the Golden Arrow Restaurant and Cafeteria after buying from Mr and Mrs O B Carthen They come from Beaumont where he managed Little Mexico for five years The family lives at 606 West Central with their son Michael Allan They attend Baptist and Presbyterian churches The restaurant will open early for breakfast at 5 am and stay open until 9 pm with cafeteria service from 11 am to 2 pm
Postmaster James E. Carpenter reports postal receipts for 1964 totaled 63 159 as against 57 (sic) 65 5 in 1963. The quarterly breakdown shows gains in first and second quarters and varying totals for the third and fourth quarters. Carpenter notes extended service to new areas with no extra staff and urges patrons to report problems to the office.
Remodeling is underway at the Markums' business located at the Y on the Fort Worth Brownwood Abilene highways. An open house date will be announced when work is completed as they invite the public to visit and meet them.
Public Works Superintendent John Jolink of Comanche reports June set a new city record for water pumped. Five pumps run at full capacity. the filter plant operates 20 hours daily, overloaded by 50 percent to meet demand. Peak day was July 7 with over 1 million gallons used.
