Rector Cunningham Post Organized At Comanche Courthouse

A July ceremony at the Comanche courthouse formed the Rector Cunningham Post of the American Legion. Officers elected include Commander E B Woodruff and Vice Commander Edwin Palmer. The post honors Rector Cunningham, a Comanche native who died in World War I, and sets dues at 3.75 for the year with a call for prompt payment.

City Grocery Sold to Morris and McLemore

Messrs Crick Morris of Sipe Springs and Chris McLemore of Dallas have purchased the City Grocery in the Masonic building from Mr T M Gore. The transaction was made last Friday and Morris and McLemore take charge immediately. Morris is son of D L Morris formerly of Comanche now in Sipe Springs. The McLemores have moved here Mrs McLemore is Thelma Gray daughter of Dr and Mrs A J Gray.

San Francisco reports San Francisco July M. Cox three times Ohio governor won the Democratic presidential nomination after the party endured a record 44 ballots. Attorney General Palmer withdrew on the 38th ballot and McAdoo led with 26,614 votes to Cox’s 7,021 as Texas consistently backed McAdoo.
