Comanche County Veterans to Receive $18 000 Dividends
About 240 local veterans in Comanche County will receive roughly $18,000 in dividends from the Veterans Administration. Nationwide, $335.6 million will be distributed to policyholders, with World War II holders receiving the largest share. Vietnam vets are ineligible for this payout.

Search continues for missing man at Lake Proctor
John W. Glass 25 of Fort Worth is presumed drowned after a hunting boat sank in Lake Proctor during a January 19 incident. His companions John C. VanAken 36 and Roger W. Curchin 30, both of Fort Worth, were recovered Sunday night. A large volunteer effort involving boats, horses, air search, and multiple city and county agencies has persisted since the tragedy with many communities aiding.
