Drive education movement urged for Texas schools
The State Parent-Teachers Association backs a mandatory driver education course in every Texas public school. Comanche High School offered such a course years ago but it was dropped for about a year. E C McFadden of Dallas cites 4100 U.S. child deaths last year from traffic accidents and calls for a national safety program and school based training. He notes 215000 injuries and millions in property loss, urging parental involvement and home safety training as essential.
