Mill Explosion Injures Two Men and Damages Building
A massive explosion at the Farmers Mill near the Comanche National Bank injured Willie Mac Johnson and Ben Wilhelm Thursday morning. Flying mill stones and debris tore through walls, scattering dust and injuring Wilhelm and Johnson, while spectators escaped unharmed. The blast may have been caused by the mill’s speed or internal stone failure amid dust explosion theories. Subsequent reports note both men are recovering. A separate midnight fire destroyed H. J. Davis’s residence, the B Queen place, with $1,000 insured loss and unknown origin as the family had just moved in.

Fire Destroys Home of Jake la Grone on Mrs. Odell Place
The La Grone residence at the Mrs. Odell place in Board Church community burned down around 1 30 Monday. The building and contents were a total loss with no insurance. Jake la Grone was in the field and Mrs. La Grone at her mother's nearby home when the fire was found. No cause is determined as the entire house was ablaze upon discovery.
