The Comanche Trail Council Boy Scouts host a recognition dinner at Brownwood High School on Saturday January 21 at 7 30 pm featuring Commander Thomas J Keane recipient of the Silver Buffalo for 1962 and renowned Scouting leader with a long military career. Tickets cost 250 and are available from local Scouters or by mail order.
Frank Orts of Gonzales will present an educational program on animal husbandry and meats at Me January 24. Orts previously supervised the meats laboratory at A&M and will lead educational sessions for youths and adults. Lion Jim Roberts chairs the committee with Lions Porter Franks and Don Vaughn assisting.
Brownwood attendees learn tickets are not sold at the door and must be obtained in advance from the council service center via P O Box 10 percent.
