Comanche County Banks Hit New Deposit High in 1973

Comanche County banks set an all time deposit record for 1973 with $40,873,404 at year end up nearly $5 million from 1972. Leading deposits were Comanche National Bank with $14,150,732 and First Comanche Bank at $12,144,868. Loans rose to $20,676,727 with First Comanche Bank posting $7,260,157 in loans the largest. Financial experts say loan growth signals county economic progress.

Comanche Volunteer Firemen logged 143 calls in 1973 under Fire Marshal Dale Nowlin. They answered 65 grass fires, 29 rescue calls to save houses and structures, two trailer fires, five other incidents, and two false alarms.
