Comanche to Dublin Sunday car excursion showcases smooth newly paved roads and rising tourist traffic. Residents and visiting families crowd streets, parked cars line banks, and local business owners note increased activity as travelers praise the improved route.
A meeting of the Young % Business League discussed speeding the erection of a new post office in Comanche. F J Reese P M urged immediate action on the building and a new mail route. A committee was tasked to assist in promoting early construction and possible city delivery if conditions permit.
J H Bridges longtime Comanche county resident died February 15 at the home of L L Vines near Beattie. Born September 5 1833 in Nashville he served as a union soldier and lived a life of quiet service. He was twice married and had four children. His body rests at Martins Branch with funeral services held February 16.
A local report notes strong prosperity as major advertisers flood papers with large orders. Mrs. McCrary, who runs a bill posting business, received the heaviest order yet from the American Tobacco Company, requesting 224 sheets, signaling booming business and consumer confidence.
The Comanche county public school meet will be held in Comanche on the last Saturday in March the 31st. It will attract representatives from nearly all county schools. Under Mr Freeland the event is expected to exceed prior years with more declamation, debates, compositions, and spelling contests. Details to follow next week.

Family members include C N Owens, M A Sharp, F A Singletary, J L Owens of Comanche, E B Owens of Farmersville, G C and S J of Hico, and Oscar of Hamlin. Natives of Texas.
Judge McMillan announces a county funded road repair plan. A single full time foreman will maintain the National highway through the county, with small monthly donations from communities like Hasse Proctor and Logan's Valley to cover upkeep. Prompt repairs and regular dragging will extend the road's life.
J C Mantooth of near Newburg trapped a full grown wolf and staked it out in his yard. By Monday he added another large wolf to his collection. He reports pride in the catches as local buyers express interest in butter and eggs.

C B Williams of route No 2 received a pure blood Essex pig from T R Williams of Ireland Texas. The pig's dam produced 37 pigs in 11 months and 20 days with all surviving, a record described as exceptional. The note praises improved stock and new hogs entering the area.

The judges will be three impartial men yet to be named.

Last Thursday night Comanchee Lodge No. 154 awarded a veteran's jewel to S P Smith. Deputy Grand Chancellor Jno Hoff spoke and presented the jewel. Smith marked 25 years of continuous service, 14 years as Keeper of Records and Seal, elected for the 15th time. Local Knights of Pythias praise his loyalty.
