Income tax requirements under new revenue bill details
Tables show assessments on incomes from $3,000 to $4,000,000 under the pending revenue bill. Fred H. Brundage, ex IRS, notes individuals and partnerships may be exempt from excess and war profits taxes but taxed by normal and surtax. The normal tax begins at six percent up to $4,000 over the personal exemption, twelve percent thereafter. surtax starts at one percent between $5,000 and $6,000 and rises to 85 percent as income increases.
