Messrs Ardis and Moore proprietors of the Majestic Theatre announce a new motion picture show at the Brin building on the West side. An inclined floor new opera chairs and a $1500 electric piano with orchestra will be added. The house will feature a recessed front glass box office and modern appointments. Open Saturdays and First Mondays with possible afternoon shows if business warrants.

Monday event in Comanche drew a good crowd with strong mule sales. J. F. Lane sold sixteen head and Geo. Montgomery ten head as Comanche County remains a noted mule market with several buyers each First Monday.

Uncle John Anderson died at his home four miles south of town on the Gustine road last Thursday night. His remains were buried Saturday at Indian Creek at 1 PM by the Fleming Mason ic lodge, of which he had been a member for many years. He was an old settler, once ran a flour mill on Indian Creek near the present oil mill site. He married into the Campbell family, among the region’s oldest and most prominent, his wife one of twenty two siblings, fourteen of whom survive. Lee Campbell and Mrs. W. H. Montgomery are among the survivors. He was a respected county citizen, leaving many friends and relatives. Peace to his ashes.
Bowden comes back to Brownwood after time in Fort Worth and Comanche and plans a secondhand furniture store at 308 East Broadway. He says Brownwood fits best and intends to stay, having lived here ten or twelve years and being well known locally.
The Majestic Theatre screens Hiawatha a feature film based on the Longfellow tale this evening. Promoters Ardis and Moore strive to offer the best for patrons and their efforts are praised by critics.
Constable Atchinson returned Friday from Strawn with Derel Wyatt an 18 or 19 year old charged with horse theft in this county. He allegedly hired a horse and buggy at McCollum's Livery to go to Priddy but went to Strawn and tried to sell the horse and buggy for 80 dollars. the other party backed out. Wyatt was jailed on the horse theft charge.
Editorial calls for a formal pro Democrat county meeting in Comanche to elect delegates to the Fort Worth state convention on February 21. The piece urges fair, full expression of gubernatorial candidate preference and resents self-appointed leaders selecting a candidate.
G. P. Wetzel, a pioneer citizen, fell at his home and injured his hip. He crawled to the house before family noticed and has been confined to bed, enduring considerable pain since the accident.

Russell Bennett aged 16 and nephew of Hugh Lacy and Mrs Volley Jackson was accidentally killed at Howard Payne College Brownwood Wednesday afternoon during a baseball game. He was struck on the head by a batted ball while catching a ball from Willard Wooden and died within minutes from brain concussion. Bennett had been in his first college year and owned farms in Blanket and Sidney counties.
The switch to the site of the new brick plant is completed and machinery is being unloaded this week. Arrangements are under way for timely completion, with construction by unnamed parties. The new plant will create several jobs and bring money into the city from the brick product, encouraging more industries of this kind.
