Comanche County seeks water irrigation district plans
Comanche County farmers are sending a questionnaire on creating an irrigation district to use Lake Proctor water. Engineers study costs for irrigating land 10 to 15 miles from the lake. Inflation, Viet Nam, and tax trends shape expectations for 1967 while local industry grows with Gold Kist MoorMans and others expanding. Comanche High School’s basketball success contrasts with a weak football history, and residents seek overseas service listings and visit relatives after Christmas.
