Comanche Chief editor recounts local pioneer life and wire cutters
Excerpts from a 1924 fiftieth anniversary edition recount Comanche County history and the Featherston family. Vera Featherston Back collects materials from L. B. Russell and locals about Captain Cunningham and early schools and lawmen. The piece notes 1883 wire-cutting clashes, Cushioned by Sheriff Cunningham and supporters, and recalls community life in the 1870s to 1880s with anecdotes from teachers and residents.
