Work Begun on Bruton Lane

Work on Bruton Lane started Monday and was abandoned Wednesday after local residents raised just over 50 dollars. The city provided the road crew for gravel work while southern residents supplied teams. 220 loads were moved in three days, with business houses contributing three city teams and the city paying the rest. No citizen-raised funds were spent, and the deteriorated road prompted broader concern for Newburg and Cedar Gap residents who suffer daily.
