Mrs. Frank Vafley aged 25 died from burns received when the Mann Apartment house in Hamilton was destroyed by a blaze early Monday. Night Officer Kinsey arrived, rescued Mrs Harley, who later died at the hospital. Dr Fowler and wife lost their apartment and library in the explosion.
Mrs. A R Griffith longtime Van Dyke County resident died November 24 at her daughter Mae Mason’s home in San Angelo. Burial was in Downing Cemetery. Born April 12, 1870, she married Frank Griffith who preceded her in death about 38 years ago. Survived by daughters Dora Creek Lorraine Mae Eason San Angelo Della Terry Coleman Alice Malone Dublin son Jack Griffith Coleman Calvin Griffith Comanche and step daughter Julie Lobstine Coleman with 37 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Smith of De Leon was the high point man, Nabors of De Leon and Gleaton of Gustine named outstanding players. Semi final Gustine beat Sidney 7 to 5 and in the final Gustine defeated De Leon 21 to 16.
