The Brownwood VA office announced gratuity payments on GI loans will be suspended Sept 1 1953 to June 30 1954 under Public Law 149 83rd Congress. No payments to veterans obtaining GI loans after Aug 31 1953. Exceptions apply to loans issued or commitments dated before Sept 1 1953 and certain closed loans.
