Grapevine Revival Turns Sand to Rich Comanche Bounty
Four years after giving up on grapes Charle Cuthbertson near Comanche Texas kept one last try with vines and blackberries. This year his land rose in value from 10 to over 200 per acre as his 3000 pounds per acre grape yields sold for 8 to 15 cents a pound and his 35 acres of berries yielded hundreds of dollars. Fellow growers E E Denney and H J R Gille also reported strong results with Niagara Agawam and Virginia Dare varieties.
