Court strikes down 1981 redistricting act in Texas
The Austin district court voided the 1981 House redistricting plan over county splitting, triggering possible reapportionment by a Constitutional board if the Supreme Court upholds. The case raises questions on deadlines and whether a special session or the board handles the reapportionment after census data.
