FDA Sets 90 Percent Peanut Rule For Peanut Butter
The Food and Drug Administration announces a revised standard making peanut butter contain at least 90 percent peanuts. Optional ingredients may be used up to 10 percent with proper labeling including hydrogenated oils. labels must declare ingredients and any unbalanced peanut use must carry a cautionary statement.
