Little League All Star Tournament Opens in Comanche
The local All-Star tournament started at the Little League field with De Leon beating Goldthwaite and Comanche defeating Dublin. Round two features Hamilton vs Stephenville and Gorman vs San Saba, followed by Friday games and a 9 p.m. championship Saturday. 26th Annual REA Meeting Set Here For Friday Night
Comanche County Electric Cooperative plans its 26th annual meeting at Indian Memorial Stadium Friday. Registration at 7 p.m. with an 8 p.m. start. Entertainment includes Bob Murphey and Gospel Aires. Two directors will be elected from districts 1 and 3. Attendance prizes valued at over 350 dollars. Comanche Little League All-Stars earned two runner-up finishes in back to back tournaments in San Saba and De Leon. In San Saba they beat Goldthwaite 12 0 and Blanco 6 5 before losing 11 4 to San Saba in the final. In De Leon they beat German 7 5 but fell 7 5 to Stephen ville in the finals.
