Prizes Announced For Tag Day Team Donations

Tag Day teams will operate all day Saturday raising funds for the educational amendment. Four team captains were chosen for Comanche with supervising volunteers named. Prizes include chocolates from Owl Confectionery for most tags, Betsy Ross chocolates for most money raised, and a floral arrangement for the highest price tag. Committees meet at 8:30 a.m. at the Chamber of Commerce to finalize plans.

Cash Prizes Announced for Clean Up Campaign

The First National Bank county school depository received from Austin last week over $16,000 as state aid for forty eight of the county’s sixty five schools.

Announcement says B Y Cummings, a Hillsboro attorney active in Texas campaigns, will speak at the Comanche court house tonight in the interest of Joe Bailey and the Fort Worth principles. He has recently located at Eastland, opening a law office after local oil development.

Brooks urges voters to attend conventions in bid for reform

Baylor University president Dr. 8. P. Brooks urged a capacity audience to attend precinct conventions Saturday and be at opening hour. He pressed Democratic principles and noted past reforms, praising Wilson era actions and commenting on Bailey. He said he would not support saloon policies again and spoke to 8:30 to 10 PM before standing-room crowds.

Precinct Conventions Set for Comanche County Saturday

Two o clock p m time announced for precinct conventions in Comanche County precinct 1 at the court house and precinct 2 at the W O W hall all qualified voters including women may participate in the process.

Laying of Telephone Cable Completed in Comanche Texas

The telephone company reports completion of cable installation with cross lines underway and plans to add a drop system within months. Rates will rise from 1.50 to 2.00 for residences and 2.50 to 3.50 for business phones, reflecting higher operating costs after an ice storm and a major rebuild. Comanche is noted for low rates and high patronage.
