No Grazing Period Opens May 1 for Diversion Acres
Palmery residents are reminded that a five month no grazing period runs May 1 through October 1 for diverted acres under the 1968 feed grain and cotton programs. Participants in Conservation Reserve and Crop land Adjustment programs also avoid grazing or harvesting on diverted land for the life of their agreements. Comanche County farms signed up about 262 in the 1968 diversion programs for corn grain sorghum and cotton.
