CHS freshmen won the Goldthwaite track meet held Thursday April 16 with Comanche scoring 149 points to lead standings. Relay teams and individual events show multiple recognitions for Gutierrez Suarez Williams Dudley and others as Comanche and Goldthwaite squads competed across sprints relays hurdles and field events.

Decatur captured the team title at the Redskin Relays last Saturday with 69 points, Lockett 51, and Coleman third in a 28 team regional qualifier meet. Athletes placing included How 6th in shot put, Elliott 6th in discus, Geye 5th high jump, Parker Ormsby Dudley Brightman 4th in 440 relay, Renshaw 5th 880, Glen Parker 4th 330 hurdles, MecGettis 3rd in mile.
Shady Elm notes a well attended Sunday service led by Rev Harvey Rains of the United Methodist Church. Several local residents and visitors from Austin Midland Dallas Fort Worth Abilene joined family reunions and greetings as others prepared for next week with Rev Kenneth Williman’s Liberty Free Will Church group.
The family of Ervin H. Davis thanks friends and neighbors for kindness during their sorrow. Houston visitors Mr and Mrs Gail Dudley visited daughter and family Mr and Mrs J R Allison Crawford and Justin. Mr Allison is at Diagnostic Clinic Hospital in Houston with colitis and reported slightly improved.
Mr and Mrs Roy Feilder and Mr and Mrs Wave Ravenshine attended the State Singing Convention in Stephenville. Others from Camanche included Luther Harkins Eula Parker Ilene Hays and Nona Green. The Feilders have not missed more than one year in 38 conventions. Doras Viejvors Marie White and Hazel McDaniel of Dallas visited J A Rogers family over the weekend.
Mr and Mrs Danny Cagle and their son Mark of Houston spent the weekend with Mrs Cagles arrests, and with Mr and Mrs Whit Jarratt.
