The District Meet held in Comanche last Saturday after weather postponement drew a large crowd. The Comanche team captured a majority of first places as Hamilton and nearby teams tried but couldn't match their effort. The event proceeded without incidents and ended on a high note with strong county enthusiasm.
Comanche claimed the District Meet title with 57 points, led by Floyd Merritt who earned 14 points. The squad swept field and track events, defeating Hamilton and Eastland as top performers from Cisco, Dublin, and others contributed to the win. Ten runners and field athletes, including Merritt, Scurry, and Atwood, will compete at the State Meet in Austin.
