Local hatchery could set record as season expands
Output at the local hatchery exceeds last year with 81 557 chicks hatched by Saturday and a capacity running at the 80 000 egg incubator. Tom Pate manager says weekly about nine thousand eggs are set and the run may continue through May with strong turkey egg and other fowl activity. Many customers keep chicks to ten days or two weeks before sale for higher profit. Social notes include Velma Wright visiting and Catherine Chilton visiting Dallas relatives.
